Retired, Handicapped, and Elderly Work at Home with TrafficWave ...

(OPENPRESS) January, 11, 2007 Wakefield, NH -- An online automated business with TrafficWave provides the extra income to supplement limited budgets needed by many retired, handicapped, and elderly. The cost of going into business, the complications of computers and Internet use, and the cost and challenges of advertising an online business are major obstacles for anyone who wants to make extra money. Anna Frediani suffers from health problems that keep her at home. She supplements her limited income with an online business she operates from home. It involves a web site that is automated and runs itself. "All I have to do to run my business is check my E-mail each day. The web site automatically notifies me each time I make a sale. The program does all the work. It is just like a vending machine.

Working from home requires discipline and balance

Many people are trading in their commuter passes and cubicle life to work from home. After all, technological advancements enable remote access to servers, and just having e-mail and Internet access can provide workers all the tools they need to conduct business from a home office.

The appeal of working at home is very alluring to those who have sampled the benefits, particularly mothers or fathers who think this would be the ideal means to remaining in the workforce, while also caring for children. Many think at-home workers have it easy. Dont they have free reign to wake up late, remain in their pajamas and probably goof off more than they put in productive hours?

Thats how misinformed people view working from home, or telecommuting, as its often called. However, many home-based workers can attest that these statements couldnt be further from the truth.

Home in on a better lifestyle

For many people the idea of working from home is about as good as it gets. Not only does it offer a stress-free alternative to the horror of the daily commute, but it also allows you to dictate your own hours and gives you freedom from the tyranny of the office.

Recent advances in technology mean that the dream has never been easier to attain. Faster broadband internet connections, smarter phones and sophisticated software and web services allow you to log in to your computer from anywhere in the world, work collaboratively with colleagues on projects over the web, and even retain a London-based phone number if you decide to emigrate to warmer climes.

Is An Online Degree Right for You?

(ARA) - With the ever-changing job market and increasing competition for stable, well-paying jobs, more and more adults are seeking additional education to help them in their current professions or to prepare them for a career change. For people who are working full time, online learning, sometimes referred to as distance learning, can be a great choice. Taking courses online enables you to pursue an advanced degree without sacrificing the time you spend with your family or the momentum you have in a career track. Online programs allow learners to take courses when it's convenient for them. Without set classroom time, learners can work on assignments from home, the office, or on the road -- as long as they have access to e-mail and the Internet. The practicality and convenience of online learning has helped it become a popular choice among busy adults.

Now you can make an offer for a house with a click of a mouse

A new internet-based realtor has set up in Bermuda with the aim of taking much of the leg-work and some of the commission costs out of buying and selling property.
My-Bermuda-House has been up and running since last November and its web-site enables interested parties to have a good look around properties from the comfort of their own home or office.
Detailed lists, floor plans, maps and pictures, sometimes including virtual tours, panoramic videos and aerial shots, help to give browsers a clear idea of the attributes of any property they are interested in.
Clients can book an appointment to view a property or even make an offer (though it is not legally binding) with the click of a mouse.
Vendors can list their properties with My-Bermuda-House.com and a completed sale to a buyer attracted through the site could cost the vendor as little as three percent commission.

In the fast lane : Dial-up on the wane but still vital connection method for some

Mandy Morgan of Chattanooga said her dial-up service at home is so slow she often gets frustrated and decides to do what work she needs to do elsewhere.

"I can check my e-mail, but it takes forever for pictures to load," she said. "I hope to switch (to broadband) in the next few months."

Ms. Morgan, 26, a graduate student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, is one of a declining number of narrowband, or dial-up, Internet users.

According to Nielsen/NetRatings, a media and market research solutions company, 78 percent of active U.S. home Web users connected via broadband during November.

Broadband use is up 13 percentage points from active Web users a year ago, the research showed.

"Broadband has dramatically increased over the past five years," said Gary Poole, director of Internet development for America Internet and Communications.
